Why should I choose Hills 3D Ultrasound?
Our qualified sonographers prioritise your comfort, providing a safe and inclusive environment. We are using the most up to date ultrasound technology which, with our expertise, will ensure you walk away with the best possible images of your baby.
Can I have this scan in place of a diagnostic ultrasound scan?
No. This is strictly a non-diagnostic scan which means a doctor does not report on the images. You are required to have your regular pregnancy scans through a diagnostic radiology service.
Do I need a referral and is the scan covered by Medicare or private health funds?
As this is a non-diagnostic scan, no referral is needed, you can simply book an appointment with us.
Unfortunately, as this is a non-diagnostic scan, it is not covered by Medicare or private health funds.
Can you guarantee gender?
Gender can be confirmed with 90% confidence from 15 weeks. There are several factors that can influence accuracy in gender confirmation, including baby position and placenta location.
We allow one other scan at no cost if gender is not seen from 15 weeks.
How many people can I bring to the scan?
You can bring up to 2 other people with you to the scan. To get the best images there needs to be a high level of concentration. You will receive plenty of photos and videos on your USB to share with family and friends.
When is the best time to see the baby's face in 3D?
The best time to see the baby's face is from 28-32 weeks. Prior to this the baby's face is not as chubby. From 32 weeks there is still the opportunity to see the baby's face but as the baby grows there is less space and it may be difficult to get a clear image.
